VELVELE, founded by Merve Salgar and Anil Eraslan, takes the stage at All Saints Church Moda on the evening of September 30. The duo links their own compositions with pieces chosen from the Ottoman-Turkish music repertoire in a flow built in the moment rather than a predetermined order, which is why no two concerts are ever repeated. The high-ceilinged acoustics of the church in Moda create a listening environment where strings and vocals spread naturally, and the microphone steps back. A night where silence is also part of the performance. September's closing concert for those curious about improvisation and a contemporary interpretation of traditional repertoire.
