Yasak Helva play Komünite on Friday evening, 15 January, at 9:30 PM. Founded by three musicians of Balkan descent whose paths crossed in İzmir, the band reimagines Anatolia's multicultural musical heritage in what they call an "Anatolian fusion". Built around electric cümbüş, çağlama, bass guitar and drums, their repertoire mixes original songs, traditional melodies and tunes from different geographies. The group has appeared at stages such as Sziget Festival, Carthage Jazz Festival and Istanbul Jazz Festival. After their 2019 debut album Rektefe, they released their second album Atamba in June 2025 on Gülbaba Records, made up entirely of their own songs — a good chance to hear this new chapter live. On stage: Salih Korkut Peker (cümbüş, çağlama, fretless guitar, vocals), Onur Ertem (drums, percussion, electronics) and Hakan Görkem Büyük (bass guitar, vocals).
