Volkan Gündüz is one of the most important DJs, producers and entrepreneurs on Turkey's electronic music and underground scene, having shaped the rhythm of Istanbul nightlife and played a key role in the growth of this culture for nearly 20 years. Founder of Beatgate, a record label, event management and booking agency built around the motto "#keeptheundergroundalive" to keep Istanbul's underground music scene alive, he has served as co-founder, operator or music director of clubs that left their mark on Istanbul's electronic music world, including Kafes, Module, Tamirci and Koma, hosting many local and world-famous names at these venues. Known for high-tempo, energetic melodic house and techno in his sets, and a pioneer in popularizing rave and after-party culture in Turkey, he has also produced unusual projects like Turkey's first-ever 24-hour live solo performance broadcast, and has spent years hosting regular programs on Turkey's storied electronic music radio station FG 93.8.
