Sina Bathaie is an Iranian-Canadian multi-instrumentalist, DJ, producer and film composer who synthesizes traditional Persian music with modern electronic music, particularly organic house and electronica; born in 1986, he has reached a wide global audience by blending traditional instruments like the santur, oud, ukulele and hang drum with electronic production. He began learning santur at age 7 from his father, master musician Javad Bathaie, later studying oud and classical Persian repertoire (radif), and went on to study Film Scoring at Berklee College of Music, composing music for films including "The Horse Latitudes." With over 200 million streams across digital platforms, his single "Breath of Life" climbed the charts in Turkey, Azerbaijan and Georgia, while "Seven Ponds," a track he recorded live onstage, landed at #73 on CBC's "Top 100 Songs of 2024" list. Performing at prestigious events including Burning Man and the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal, he releases music on labels such as Café de Anatolia.
