Seyyah
Seyyah is a contemporary music group blending traditional Anatolian, Balkan and neighboring-region melodies into what they call "new Anatolian folk music." Formed in Strasbourg in 2017 by Turkish and European musicians, giving it an international identity from the start, the group has been based in Istanbul since 2019 and is among the names behind the city's "Kadıköy Sessions" collective. Combining traditional instruments like zurna, kaval and oud with Western ones like guitar, violin and cello, Seyyah treats folk music as a living, evolving form rather than a static museum piece. They're known for their albums "Tuz" (2022), focused on Aegean melodies, and "Uçan Da Kuşlara" (2026), exploring Anatolia and the Caucasus.
