Kerem Görsev

Kerem Görsev is one of Turkey's most renowned and prolific jazz pianists and composers, having become a cornerstone of Turkish jazz through the albums and concerts he has delivered since the 1990s. Born in Istanbul in 1961, he began his musical education at the Istanbul Municipal Conservatory in 1967, continuing at the Istanbul State Conservatory after 1972, and it was during these student years that his passion for jazz took root; before releasing his first album, he performed at Istanbul jazz clubs alongside notable musicians like Ed Howard and Doris Troy. He launched his composing and recording career with the 1994 album "Hands and Lips" and has since recorded more than 18 albums, making him one of Turkey's best-selling jazz artists; his 2010 album "Therapy," recorded with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, made the shortlist for the "Best Large Jazz Ensemble" category at the 2011 Grammy Awards. Blending classical jazz tradition with modern arrangements and lyrical improvisation, he typically performs in Trio or Quartet formats, occasionally taking on large-scale projects with symphony orchestras.
