Kaan Öztürk
Kaan Öztürk is a singer, guitarist and stage performer who has been part of the Turkish music scene since the late 1990s. Born in Ankara in 1973, he began music early on, encouraged by his father, an oud player, and had his breakout moment in 1998 with "Yollarda Yoruldum," a song he wrote and composed himself, whose music video was shot in the striking one-shot technique by director Ömer Faruk Sorak. Throughout his career he has backed major Turkish pop names including Ajda Pekkan, Yaşar, Haluk Levent and Gülşen on stage with his guitar and vocals, and he has coined his own stage concept, "Müzikomedi," blending comedic elements and storytelling with music, often performing medleys of popular '80s and '90s hits. In recent years he has mostly performed as a duo with Bora Öztoprak, and, notably, holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Yıldız Technical University — his friendship with singer Yaşar dates back to when they made music together in Istanbul during high school and university.
