Iamx
IAMX is the solo project of British musician and producer Chris Corner, launched in 2004 after he stepped away from the 1990s trip-hop group Sneaker Pimps, which he co-founded. The project fuses electronic rock, synth-pop, darkwave and dark cabaret into something distinctly its own, taking its name as a nod to Sneaker Pimps' album "Becoming X." Lyrically, IAMX leans into bold, dark territory — androgyny and fluid identity, isolation, addiction and social critique — all delivered through Corner's striking visual aesthetic and theatrical live shows that go well beyond a typical concert. Seeking distance from the music industry's pressures, Corner relocated to Berlin in 2006, where the city's underground club culture shaped what's widely seen as the project's golden era, before he later based his work out of Los Angeles.
