Ahmet Gökhan Özen has been one of the most successful singers, songwriters, arrangers and actors shaping Turkish pop music since the early 2000s, a versatile musician who writes, composes and arranges most of the songs on his own albums. Born in Ankara in 1979 to a family from Beşikdüzü, Trabzon, he won a spot in the Ankara State Opera and Ballet Children's Choir at age 6, joined TRT Ankara Radio's Turkish Classical Music Children's Choir in 1991 after placing first, spending seven years training in vocals and music theory, then moved to Istanbul to work as a radio host and guitarist. Following his 2000 debut album "Özelsin," his 2001 album "Duman Gözlüm," which sold millions of copies and included hits like "Aramazsan Arama" and "Ayaz," made him one of the country's biggest pop stars; he continued with bestselling albums like "Civciv," "Milyoner" and "Maske." Bringing his musical success to the screen as well, Özen became well known for his role as "Selim" in the TV series "Sevda Çiçeği."
