Edis (Edis Görgülü) is one of Turkey's most popular male pop artists, known for modern dance-driven production, energetic stage shows and hit songs. Born in London in 1990 but raised in Izmir, he graduated from Izmir's private Tevfik Fikret High School before earning a place at Galatasaray University's Faculty of Communication, moving to Istanbul, and briefly attending Istanbul University's State Conservatory. After an unsuccessful first attempt to break into music, he turned to acting, appearing in the series "Dinle Sevgili" and "Hayatımın Rolü"; during this period his manager spotted his musical talent and redirected him toward his real ambition. He had his major breakthrough in 2014 with "Benim Ol," a single he wrote and composed himself that shot up Turkey's charts, released his debut studio album "Ân" in March 2018, and has delivered streaming-record-breaking hits including "Çok Çok," "Dudak," "Martılar" and "Ayyaş," also bringing a fresh energy to Turkish pop through the professional dance choreography in his music videos and concerts.
