Ece Özel is an Istanbul-born and based DJ, producer and visual artist who has made a name for herself on the international electronic music scene. Having grown up in Istanbul's punk scene before discovering electronic music, her sets move unpredictably yet brightly between electro, disco, leftfield, new wave and techno. Behind the decks since 2009, she held her first long-running residency at the legendary MiniMüzikhol and is now a regular at arkaoda and Gizli Bahçe. A co-founder of Müstesna Records, a label devoted to Turkey's electronic music archive, she has also played international platforms like Boiler Room Istanbul and Berlin's Höer, and separately trained as a painter at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, where she still exhibits her work.
