Born in Balıkesir in 1978, she entered Istanbul Technical University's Turkish Music State Conservatory in 1994 and graduated with honors in 1999, studying repertoire under masters like Alâeddin Yavaşça. She reached wide audiences through her work with İncesaz, one of Turkey's most established music ensembles, singing lead on beloved albums like "Mazi Kalbimde" and "Kalbimdeki Deniz" before leaving the group in 2013 to focus on her solo career. A vocalist for TRT Istanbul Radio, she released solo albums including "Suya Söyledim," and also performs in joint projects with her husband, classical kemenche player Derya Türkan.
