Derya Uluğ
Derya Uluğ is a leading singer, lyricist and composer in Turkish pop, who launched her solo career and gained wide recognition with her breakout 2016 single "Okyanus." Born in Izmir in 1986, she won first place in a radio singing competition at age 8, joined a children's choir and began music theory training at 9, graduated from Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University's Music Teaching department, and earned a master's at Haliç University's State Conservatory. Before her solo career, she spent about three years as Ebru Gündeş's backing vocalist, and won "Best Breakthrough Solo Artist" at the Pantene Golden Butterfly Awards the same year "Okyanus" was released. She has delivered hits including "Canavar," "Nabız 180," "Yansıma" — a duet with her fiancé Asil Gök — and the beloved TV soundtrack "Sana Çıkıyor Yollar," and released her debut studio album "Nefes" in 2023.
