Can Bonomo is a Turkish singer, songwriter, poet and actor of Sephardic Jewish descent, born in Izmir in 1987, best known for representing Turkey at the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest and for his distinctive alternative musical style. He started playing guitar at age 8, graduated from Istanbul Bilgi University's Film and Television department, worked in radio during his university years, and later hosted programs on MTV Turkey and Number One TV; his breakout debut album "Meczup" arrived in 2011, followed by his Eurovision performance in Baku, where he placed 7th with his self-written song "Love Me Back," and a total of six studio albums including "Kainat Sustu" and "Ruhum Bela." A prolific poet and writer alongside his music career, Bonomo has published poetry collections such as "Delirmek Belirmektir" and a 2024 novel, "Ateşli Silahlar ve Bilardo," and has also acted in several television series; he married actress Öykü Karayel in 2018, and the couple has a son named Roman.
