Bora Öztoprak
Bora Öztoprak is an Istanbul-born singer, songwriter and composer who has left his mark on Turkish pop since the 1990s, known for romantic pop songs, powerful live performances and scores he wrote for theater plays. Born in 1973, he was introduced to music at age 5 when his father noticed his talent and bought him a piano, developed his skills on guitar during high school, and began performing at clubs at 16 while completing his musical education. He wrote enduring hits that became Turkish pop classics, including "Seni Seviyorum," "Akdeniz Geceleri" and "Gidiyorum," and beyond his own albums has written roughly 100 compositions and 70 sets of lyrics for artists like Nükhet Duru, Yeşim Salkım and Yonca Evcimik; he has also scored numerous theater productions, most notably Emre Kınay's play "Nafile Dünya," earning a nomination for the Afife Jale Theater Awards. Producing albums through his own company Ardiko Prodüksiyon and serving on the board of Turkey's MSG rights organization, he married actress Çiçek Dilligil in 1997.
