Başar Keklik is a rising young composer, lyricist, singer and producer on Turkey's alternative music scene, whose songs explore emotional themes of melancholy, love, loss and regret, blending 1970s and 80s traditional Turkish music and modern arabesque influences with contemporary alternative sound design. Born in Bergama, Izmir in 2002, he started writing lyrics in primary school, picked up guitar in 9th grade after being influenced by a friend, which pushed his composing into a professional direction, and has been actively producing music since 2016. Known for simple, sincere and deeply affecting melodies, Keklik handles not only the writing and composing of his songs but largely their production as well, and has built a devoted following, especially among young listeners, with widely streamed songs including "Biz Ayrıldık Müjgan, Bilmiyorlar," "Ardından" and "Ağlıyor Sevgilim."
