Bandista is a protest music collective founded in Istanbul in 2006 that describes itself as an "action band." With no fixed lineup, the group operates as an anonymous crew of 30 to 35 people who keep their individual identities private. Their sound draws on ska, reggae, dub, Afro-beat and Balkan music, performed with instruments like accordion, clarinet and trombone.
