Accept is a world-renowned German heavy metal band formed in Solingen in 1976, having played a crucial role in the development of speed metal and thrash metal and regarded as one of the pioneers of the classic German heavy metal sound known as "Teutonic Metal." Known for Udo Dirkschneider's ferocious vocal style and Wolf Hoffmann's iconic guitar riffs, the band went on to influence giants like Metallica, Megadeth and Slayer. With iconic albums including "Restless and Wild" (1982), which laid the foundations of speed metal, "Balls to the Wall" (1983), their best-selling album and a US gold record, and "Metal Heart" (1985), which brilliantly blended classical melodies with heavy metal, Accept has broken up and reunited multiple times throughout its history; guitarist Wolf Hoffmann is the only member to have remained in the lineup continuously since the band's founding, with Mark Tornillo currently on vocals.
