Performing at Frankhan Selectist on the evening of October 10 at 19:00 as part of the 36th Akbank Jazz Festival, Yasmine Hamdan has developed a distinctive style blending pan-Arab roots, pop, poetic lyrics, electronic music, soul and guitar-driven melodies. She began her career in the late 1990s with Soapkills, the pioneering Beirut-based indie-electro duo she formed with Zeid Hamdan; after moving to Paris in 2005 she worked with Madonna's producer Mirwais on the Y.A.S. project and released the album 'Arabology' in 2009.
